~ This bandage is NOT recommended for individuals with an allergy to adhesives. If you notice redness or irritation at any point during the healing process, remove bandage immediately.
~This bandage is water resistant, and durable enough to keep up with your everyday activities, providing optimal conditions for gentle healing and skin renewal. Showers are completely fine with your bandage on. Please do not soak or swim.
~While your bandage is on your tattoo, it will lock in natural moisture, hydrating and reducing scabbing while preventing exposure to bacteria, dirt and abrasion. This will allow you to skip frequent washing and applying ointment within the first few days of the healing process. Once the bandage comes off, proceed with the steps instructed below. If your bandage’s seal is broken in any way, (I.e. the corner lifts up, fluid is leaking out, a hole is torn in the bandage) remove it immediately.
-Your bandage can stay on for 3-5 days.
~ To remove: Gently peel off existing bandage with clean hands. Wash your tattoo with liquid antibacterial soap such as Dial gold or Hustle butter antimicrobial soap. Do not use a bar soap on your tattoo
at any point during healing. Continue cleaning 1-2 times daily. Once tattoo is cleaned, gently pat dry with a clean paper towel. Leave dry with no ointments or lotions.
~After 3-4 days: Typically your tattoo will begin to peel and become dry at this point. Slight scabbing or dry skin is normal, do not pick at it or itch the skin. The area may feel ‘tight’ or become itchy. Begin using a tattoo-safe ointment, free of dyes and fragrance. Coconut oil, calendula oil, and hustle butter are some safe options.
~ Moisturize your tattoo post-cleaning for a minimum of 2 weeks. 1-2 times per day is advised for optimal healing.
~Continue to keep your tattoo clean 1-2 times per day for a minimum of 2 1/2 weeks after removing bandage.
~Do not re-wrap your tattoo at any point.
~Wear clean, soft clothing over your tattoo for the first 2 weeks, nothing should be abrasive or irritating the area.
~Enjoy your new tattoo!
~ When you get home, remove your bandage 2-3 hours after receiving your tattoo. Do not re-bandage.
~Starting on the first day, wash your tattoo with an antibacterial liquid soap such as Dial gold or Hustle butter anti microbial soap. Be gentle, do not use a washcloth or anything that will exfoliate your tattoo. Only use your hands.
~Gently pat dry using a clean paper towel. Do not rub, or use a fabric with a rough surface.
~ Continue steps above for a minimum of 2 1/2 to 3 weeks, cleaning 1-2 times daily for optimal healing.
~After days 3-4: Typically your tattoo will begin to peel, flake and become dry or itchy. Do not pick at the skin or itch your tattoo. To moisturize the area, use a tattoo- safe ointment free of fragrance or dyes. Apply a thin layer of moisturizer to the area 1-2 times daily, or as needed. Coconut oil, calendula oil, Hustle Butter ointments are all safe options to use.
~Wear clean, soft clothing over your tattoo for the first 1-2 weeks- nothing abrasive or irritating.
~Enjoy your new tattoo!
~Do not pick, scratch, peel, rub or irritate your tattoo.
~Do not soak or swim, with or without a bandage. Showering is completely OK.
~Avoid direct exposure to sunlight. Sunblock may be used after the tattoo is fully healed. It may take up to 3-4 weeks to completely heal.
~Do not let pets, children, or other people touch your fresh tattoo.
~Avoid fragranced ointments, soaps, lotions, spray tans and shaving creams. Please do not use Aquaphor, Cetaphil, Petroleum jelly. Over-moisturizing from heavy products may cause pigment loss or inflammation.
Please keep in mind, if you feel you are having a severe adverse reaction please seek medical attention straight away.
~Slight swelling, mild redness and sensitivity to touch is normal in the first several days after a fresh tattoo. You may ice the area or take ibuprofen to reduce discomfort.
If swelling and pain persists longer AND is accompanied by fever, blisters, spots, please seek medical attention immediately.
~ Small red bumps, or clogged pores is not necessarily a cause for concern. Make sure you are using a safe ointment and following the correct cleaning procedures. If you notice a severe rash, or bumps that don’t go away after a few days, please notify a physician.
~If you are prone to keloids or excessive scar formation, avoid getting tattooed in an area of tension where it will be repeatedly stretched, as this will increase risk of scarring.
